Project Manager – Public Infrastructure Delivery
We’re seeking a capable and motivated Project Manager to join a national-level infrastructure programme. This is a newly created role within a growing team that works across a range of impactful, publicly funded projects designed to support stronger, more resilient communities throughout New Zealand.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working across complex stakeholder environments, has a solid background in infrastructure delivery, and is ready to make a meaningful contribution to projects that matter.

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects — spanning community assets, public utilities, and resilience-focused developments. You’ll be working closely with senior leaders, programme teams, and delivery partners to ensure projects are well-managed, on track, and delivering strong public outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the key point of contact for a range of assigned projects, engaging with delivery partners including councils, iwi, and developers.
- Supporting delivery by monitoring project performance, ensuring contractual milestones are met, and proactively addressing risks.
- Contributing to oversight, reporting, and assurance functions that help keep the broader programme on track.
- Working across teams to identify insights, share learnings, and ensure public investment is delivering long-term value.
- Supporting decision-making through clear communication, financial and performance analysis, and engagement with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
About You -
You’ll bring a background in infrastructure or public works project delivery — with experience across civil, horizontal, or built environment projects. You’ll be confident working within funding or oversight environments, and skilled at navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
You’ll also bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar technical discipline.
- A combination of commercial acumen, strategic leadership, and technical understanding of infrastructure delivery.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders with different priorities, bringing them together to align on goals and get things done.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to report clearly and concisely.
- A flexible, proactive mindset — someone who thrives in change and is energised by the chance to make a difference.
