Assemble Recruitment is thrilled to be partnering with Mainland Capital to identify an experienced Financial Analyst to join the team, based in Christchurch.

Established in 2010, Mainland Capital is a leading real estate funds management company specialising in diverse property assets including office, retail, industrial, self-storage, healthcare, hotels, and land development. The company is renowned for delivering exceptional, risk-adjusted value through its strategic investments and market expertise.

Based in Christchurch, this position of Financial Analyst will play a key role in driving insights and performance across Mainland Capital’s real asset investment portfolio. Working closely with finance, legal, development and asset management, and executive teams, you will contribute to the ongoing success of their funds detailed financial analysis, reporting, and modelling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models at both fund and asset levels to support business planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Conduct DCF and IRR analysis to support investment decisions and scenario planning.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packs for internal stakeholders and investors.
  • Assist in developing board and investor presentations.
  • Support fund performance monitoring, investor communications, and performance fee calculations.
  • Contribute to capital raising and acquisition activities, including pitch decks, Information Memorandum’s, and due diligence.
  • Assist with refinancing, debt structuring, and covenant reporting.
  • Partner with accounting teams on budgeting and cost control.
  • Enhance financial processes, templates, and dashboards.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and benchmark fund performance against peers.
  
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, ideally with experience in DCF and IRR analysis.
  • 2 plus years of experience as either an Analyst or Accountant, ideally with a Big 4 Consultancy or similar.
  • A solid understanding of fund structures, debt and equity instruments, or a desire to learn quickly.
  • High attention to detail, with a structured and process-driven approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and functions.
  • Exposure to Xero would be advantageous, but this is not essential.
