Job description

Our Client:
Pallas Capital is one of Australia’s leading real estate debt and equity investment managers. The business was established in 2016 as a direct response to the lack of CRE debt availability for borrower’s requiring debt solutions up to $50 million+. They have successfully invested $5.8 billion since inception.

Pallas Capital has identified a significant gap in New Zealand’s non-bank lending landscape and, as of last year, opened a New Zealand office with an initial focus on lending capital in the sub $30 million space across New Zealand, and in time this mandate is expected to grow to include larger loans and the full suite of products Pallas offers in Australia such as mezzanine debt and preferred equity.

The Opportunity:
We are partnering with Pallas Capital to identify a Loans Manager to join the team based in Auckland. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the talented Credit team in NZ and will be supported by an established Australian business and institutional grade capital.

The Role:
You will  be responsible with the active management of a sizable and growing loan book plus assisting with the execution of Pallas Capital’s first and second mortgage loans. Your day will be spent working on post-settlement activities such as the management of loan conditions and loan covenants for our existing borrowers. You will also be part of the proactive management of our loans as they reach the end of their respective loan terms. In addition, you will prepare reports and communicate effectively with our internal lending team and also with external brokers and borrowers.

About You:
To be considered a strong candidate for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following;
  • Tertiary qualified in finance, business or a property related discipline
  • 2-3yrs + experience in property and/or construction lending with either a Bank or non-bank lender
  • Advanced financial modelling and report writing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A natural affinity for relationship building
This is an incredible opportunity to be part of an established organisation that is expanding into the NZ market to make a lasting impact on the mid-market real estate segment of $1m - $30m lending to local SME borrowers.
