Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a leading residential community development business as a Senior Project Manager based in Auckland.

This current project portfolio is steadily growing, and you will be working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders leading, planning and managing the construction of several development projects. 

You will work with a team of PMs and report to the Head of Delivery/PM and take charge of a mix of residential typologies in and around the Auckland region. The role requires cradle-to-grave project management expertise across design, programming, procurement and construction of the project.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Manage multiple projects and consultants to deliver projects. 
  • Working alongside the property development team on the design, procurement and management of the project consultant and contractor teams.
  • Managing the project programme and that all contractors and sub-contractors are working to timeframes set.
  • Ensuring design specifications are being met during the construction process.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all stakeholders – internal and external.
  • Ensure that all quality control and health and safety is always adhered to.
  • Providing up to date information and reporting for the Head of PM on project progress.
  • Provide mentorship to other PMs and APMs in the team when needed.
To qualify for the role, the candidate will have as follows: 
  • Trade Certificate or relevant tertiary qualification in either engineering, construction, or quantity surveying.
  • Previous construction project management experience ideally within a main contractor environment.
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of NZ legislation and contracts.
  • Strong leadership and competent in negotiation and client relationship building.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Complete comfort interfacing and managing all stakeholders including, contractors and consultancy partners.
