Job description

This position is a key advisory role in this well established business across NZ. As part of their expanding Advisory service offering, this client is establishing a highly experienced and innovative communications, advisory and stakeholder engagement team. Working across APAC, this team are professionals committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders and establishing a genuine relationship with the communities in which they work. 

Reporting to the NZ Lead and Executive Consultants, this role will also form part of the broader international team. The role's primary purpose will be to assist with building an NZ communications and stakeholder engagement practice, ensuring a pipeline of work is established and clearly monitored, as well as supporting other parts of the NZ business and the overall wellbeing of the company. 

Ideally you will be an experienced Consultant or someone with a strong background on the client side, who is looking to move into the Consultancy space. Key experience outlined below: 
  • Hold a relatively senior/leadership role in large infrastructure / utility and/or public sector organisations 
  • Experience working with local and/or central government agencies, particularly with experience in planning/securing investment for projects 
  • Leadership role in one or more of the following Treasury Investor Confidence Rating attributes – Portfolio management, programme management, project management, Long Term Investment Planning, Asset Management or Organisational Change Management
  • Experience in developing/delivering organisation improvement/change programmes – Ideally leading an enterprise PMO / Portfolio Support Office
  • Strategy development – work with executive and/or Boards to develop organisational strategy and translate into portfolio of projects
  • Experienced business case writer, problem solving (ideally Investment Logic Mapping), project health checking/gateway reviewing -  ideally certified in one or more of Better Business Case, Investment Logic Mapping, Gateway reviewing
  • Experienced in benefits management  particularly development of measurable benefits
  • Excellent communicator, with demonstrable ability to translate technical detail to non-technical audiences
