The Regional Lead will oversee and direct the daily function of the Christchurch office, aligning with the business’ goals and objectives. You will also play a pivotal role in business development and client satisfaction within the region. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), they contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation and ensure the overall efficiency of operations nationwide. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this position carries significant responsibility in driving the success of the business in Christchurch.

Along with overall responsibility for regional client relationships across the business development and delivery cycle, you will also be responsible for:
  • Ongoing forecasting and reporting of key business and other indicators to the SLT and others,
  • Nurturing values-based relationships with other offices, staff and leaders and actively assisting them to achieve their duties,
  • Working with the Sustainability leader to integrate social, environmental and economic practices within regional operations,
  • Responsibly manage all business resources within accountability levels.

Client relationships: Understand and measure the short- and long-term viability of current client relationships and identify future client relationship opportunities.

Service delivery: Identify, report and expediently address issues that may affect proper and complete delivery and lead the development of tailored proposals based on the client's business strategies, vision and goals.

Business planning and tracking: Developing, tracking and updating annual plans and budgets, including regional OPEX aligned with regional and national strategy.
Monthly tracking of financial performance and updating forecasts monthly, including resourcing and projects.
Risk management – identifying, reporting, monitoring and mitigating risks.
  
People Management: Recruiting, maintaining and developing HR with a focus on performance, culture, health and safety and wellbeing and in line with national practices.
Developing staff succession and contingency plans to maintain growth and client satisfaction.
  
Diversity, Inclusion and Teamwork: Maintain a transparent approach to managing projects, promote a positive, inclusive workplace, support a culture of clear interpersonal communication and provide support to underrepresented groups.

Qualifications and skills will consist of:
  • Construction relevant degree or qualification
  • A deep understanding of the New Zealand construction industry  
  • A proven track record in successful project delivery and leadership in either a client side or consultancy environment
  • Clear and articulate communication with the ability to express expectations
  • Ability to set, observe and re-evaluate project priorities frequently
  • A forward planner, who can demonstrate initiative and proactiveness
  • Natural leadership capabilities possessing honesty and integrity
