Our client:

Our client is a well-established civil contractor specialising in three waters construction and maintenance. Their goal is to deliver high-quality and resilient water infrastructure, enabling Kiwi communities to go about their lives without interruption—focusing on the things that truly matter.

About the role:

They have an opportunity for an intermediate-level Estimator with significant exposure to bidding for and winning work across the three waters, energy, and rail infrastructure sectors to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 4–5 years’ experience bidding on a range of projects, including pump stations, water treatment plants, watermains, and pipelines. They will consider themselves highly detail-oriented and capable of fostering strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities:
  • Calculate quantities and costs
  • Source pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and plant hire companies
  • Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to validate construction methods
What we’re looking for:
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying (or another relevant discipline)
  • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience as an Estimator, ideally with three waters project experience
  • Strong attention to detail and proven relationship-building skills
  • NZ work rights are essential
