The scale of their development pipeline is at a point where the need for a new senior level Development Manager has been reached.

Specifically they have two long term, mixed-use developments that this position could take the lead on based out of their Auckland office.

Critical to this role is substantial front end development experience on large scale multi-building development programme’s. Breathing life into the masterplan via close stakeholder and community engagement, including key civic and Mana Whenua partners to guide and inform the design process is a unique skill and one that is essential to this particular position.

Key Accountabilities of this role:
  • Managing the performance of key mixed-use developments and the strategic partnerships that have been formed to deliver them.
  • Developing strong community stakeholder relationships to foster collective engagement, idea contribution and unified direction on developments.
  • Managing, leading and inspiring highly skilled staff including external consulting partners
  • Overseeing and taking ownership for all project feasibilities.
  • Negotiating and overseeing detailed Partnership and Development Agreements
  • Management of master planning and consenting processes.
  • Working closely with external stakeholders while managing the design, procurement and tendering of projects.
  • Preparing Board and Executive and key stakeholder reports to support major investment and development milestone decisions.
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the ideal candidate will have significant experience as a property executive leading teams to successful development outcomes through master planning, due diligence, planning approval, detailed design, construction through to completion and precinct activation.

Further skills/attributes/experience include:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and 15+ yrs in a development management role
  • You must be highly numerate, able to think laterally and have well developed commercial acumen
  • You must be a confident, inclusive leader and a team player with a high level of EQ who leads by example and inspires others.
  • You should ideally have considerable end to end development management experience with a proven eye for detail.
  • You must be fully conversant with each stage of property development from funding to feasibility, stakeholder engagement, design, planning and consenting, construction, including both vertical structures and civil works.
  • Commercial and civic mixed-use project experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to see and appreciate multiple points of view.
  • A keen eye for, and genuine interest in architectural design and a firm commitment to achieving high levels of sustainability performance.
