Job description

A high-end property development company with projects in Wellington and Auckland, is looking for an Operations Manager based out of their central Auckland office.

The opportunity has been created due to successful project growth, and the owner of the business is keen to find an Operational Manager to support consistent growth trajectory, manage a team to increase productivity and coherence, to essentially manage the functions which keep the constrcution business moving forward.

The candidate will develop and implement business plans & systems, manage the implementation of the business plans across the business with responsibility for the achievement of the revenue and profitability targets as well as full operational and general management responsibility. The business values mentorship and development, so you will enjoy career growth opportunities and autonomy in your role. 

You will have responsibility for:
  • Management and high level oversight of project objectives and deliverables.
  • Visibly support and lead the drive to achieve targets
  • Management of tenders and forward workload 
  • Prepare business plans on an annual basis including revenue and overhead budgets 
  • Responsibility for revenue growth in conjunction with the owner 
  • Day-to-day operational management of company wide team 
  • Coaching and development of team, including recruitment and reviews
  • Establish sound communication to channels to ensure effective and cohesive working environment.
The role requires:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification - construction related is desirable
  • 10+ years experience from delivering construction projects through to management.
  • Strong commercial acumen & strategic planning experience
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with a focused on increased efficiency 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing tasks and priorities effectively 
  • Able to quickly build relationships at all levels, to manage and report upwards 
  • Management of stakeholders - internal relationships, clients, suppliers
