As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work on the principle that measurement and cost is a vital part of a management and project process. This main contractor is looking for a Junior QS to deliver some interesting projects in the market. Their unique and forward thinking techniques are both effective and supportive to their clients and teams.
You will be focused on supporting the other Quantity Surveyor's and wider Project Manager's, to deliver projects on time and within budget, competitively and with a satisfied customer. Your highly developed skills in understanding measurement, costs and affordability will be valuable while working on projects across Residential, Education, Hotels and Leisure, commercial construction and more.
You will be working within a committed and self motivated company, with a high focus on succession planning careers and skill-sets for their team. - Working with Cost X software
- Gain a good understanding of common conditions of contract
- Experience across general QS functions - scoping, pricing, measuring, payment claims
Requirements:
- Industry related qualification
- 1-2+ yrs industry experience ideally with a main contractor
- Have high communication skills and be able to converse with Consultants and sub-contractors
- Have a basic understanding of contract documents and responsibilities, and be able to assist on reporting these
- This role would suit either a new Construction Management grad, a student completing their degree or someone with 1-2 years experience
- Willingness to learn, have good initiative and be able to work within a fast paced environment
