This specialist civil engineering consultancy has been under its current ownership for 15 years and has a long-standing presence in the market.
With offices in Auckland and Central Otago, they deliver a wide range of civil engineering projects including residential and industrial subdivisions, retirement villages, and civil infrastructure/site works supporting building developments.
The business has grown consistently through referred work and has recently secured another long-term contract with one of New Zealand’s largest land and property developers, creating the need for an Intermediate Civil Engineer to support delivery across a strong pipeline.
You’ll work closely with senior engineers and project leads to deliver land development projects from concept through consenting and construction.
You’ll take ownership of key design and coordination components, contribute to high-quality outputs, and build relationships with stakeholders including clients, councils and contractors.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers and project leads to deliver land development projects from concept through consenting and construction.
You’ll take ownership of key design and coordination components, contribute to high-quality outputs, and build relationships with stakeholders including clients, councils and contractors.
Key responsibilities
- Civil design across earthworks, roading, drainage, stormwater treatment and detention
- Supporting resource consent documentation and responding to council queries
- Assisting with hydrology / stream works / mitigation where relevant
- Design coordination with internal teams, clients, councils and contractors
- Site monitoring / construction observation and supporting construction supervision
- Contract administration support, documentation, and QA processes
- Using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or 12d to produce accurate designs and drawings
- BE (Civil) / NZCE / BEngTech (or equivalent)
- 3–6 years’ local New Zealand civil engineering experience (required)
- Experience delivering land development / subdivisions / civil site works
- Confident communicator who can build rapport with clients, councils and contractors
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or 12d
