THE COMPANY

Our client is a multi – disciplinary consultancy that focuses on four key areas: Urban Design and Architecture, Engineering, Planning, and the Surveying/Geo Spatial services across a range of asset classes in the private and public sectors.

As one of the six member companies of the Piritahi alliance (NZ’s first land development alliance), a unique opportunity presents itself for an intermediate engineer to help make a housing in Auckland more affordable by working for this well-respected consultancy as part of the Piritahi Alliance.

THE ROLE

Helping to speed up the supply of build ready land by delivering new and upgraded aboveground and underground infrastructure on behalf of Kainga Ora, the successful candidate will report to the Discipline Lead of the 3 Waters Team within the Piritahi Alliance.

This role will have a particular emphasis on modelling, design and implementation of water supply and wastewater networks to support land development projects.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

-Relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering
-3 – 6 years within the civil engineering industry
-Good knowledge of relevant software and tools:

-Wastewater Modelling software such as Infoworks, WSPro, ICM SE, DHI MikeUrban or similar.

-Water Supply Modelling software such as Infoworks, WSPro or similar.

Good Knowledge of GIS applications, such as QGIS or ArcGIS.

A strong understanding of:

-Wastewater networks (transmission and local network), hydraulics, dry weather/wet weather issues, pumping stations, storage/support structures and relevant industry codes of practice.

-Water Supply networks (transmission and local network), hydraulics, fire flow requirements, pressure management, pumping stations, storage/reservoir facilities, support structures and relevant codes of practice.

And on a day-to-day basis you will be expected to:

-Lead projects/tasks using the team resources provided, with direction from the discipline lead.
-Be flexible, proactive, change focused and think critically in a constructive way.
-Bring a positive approach, be self-motivated and a willingness to learn.
