The role
This is a vital role in the company and will be accountable for all Health & Safety matters for the business. The purpose of this role as Head of Health & Safety will be to provide leadership and coaching to ensure the business and their people meet and exceed their health and safety responsibilities. The role will involve a mixture of strategy and operational activity while working alongside business leaders to drive a health and safety culture.
You will be responsible for ensuring the business complies with relevant legislations, regulations and standards through internal policies and procedures and provide advice, guidance and coaching to business leaders so they can minimise or eliminate risks. This role will report into the CEO, work closely with executives and report into the board.

The ideal candidate
- 5 years + experience in a Senior Operational H&S Management role
- Experience in Property or Construction desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of AS/NZS4801 Standard and its application
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and its Amendments, Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act (ACC), relating to entitlements, compensation and rehabilitation, and Hazardous Substances Notifiable Organism Act.
- Occupational Health and Safety Diploma and other health and safety qualifications
- Experience with managing Contractor
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
