The Role:

The Estimator is responsible for the profitable pricing of tenders in a timely and customer focused environment which includes but not limited to:
  • Evaluate which sub-trades and suppliers are required for each new project and send out all relevant information to all trades and suppliers as required so they can complete tender – predominantly for shopfitting and construction work.
  • Liaising with customer, client, PM and/or designer for all details required to complete tender.
  • Exploring alternative trades and/or details to provide a full tender with options for customer.
  • Measuring and estimating all labour and materials for new projects.
  • Negotiating final contract sums, under guidance of Senior Estimator and/or Managing Director.
  • Provide a complete handover package to the assigned Project Manager, once contract has been secured.
  • Adhere to Customer timeframes ensuring all tenders are submitted on time, every time.
  • Providing backup and assistance in pricing of variations during project completion.
  • Ensure the Senior Estimator and/or Managing Director are kept abreast of all relevant challenges and opportunities.
  • Assist management to comply with the H&S policy.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience using a quote software system – ideally CRM
  • Knowledge of NZ build methodology
  • Full understanding and ability to extract trades from drawings, obtain quotes and compile a tender response
  • Experience in delivering quotes for fit-out commercial projects
  • Strong IT and numerical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills
