Job description

An excellent opportunity has been created for a Senior Development Manager within a leading property development company highly engaged and active in the New Zealand property market. 
 
This is a significant strategic hire for the business as the role will require the individual to drive the delivery of a new residential development in the North Shore and build solid commercial relationships based in Auckland. 

This business currently has strong development pipeline across NZ and this role will keep this person challenged for the next few years with the development being delivered in 3 main stages over a multi-year period with a particular focus in terrace homes and walk-up apartments. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Development Brief - assist with the preparation of the development strategy and brief.
  • Feasibility and cashflow analysis - assist with establishing and updating the feasibility and cashflow.
  • Consultant Procurement - manage the procurement of consultants and execute contract agreements.
  • Design Management - manage consultants across all design stages,
  • Local Authorities - manage the resource and building consent processes.
  • Procurement of Contractors and Suppliers
  • Construction administration - manage the contract administration for the construction and closeout stages.
  • Health & Safety Management
  • Managing the project programme and cost.
  • Reporting - provide regular reporting to management at all stages of the project.
To be considered for the role the ideal candidate will have experience as a development manager or SDM from private or public sector. 

You will also have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Strong leadership and competent in negotiation and client relationship building.
  • Project experience in residential development. 
  • Either fully conversant or been exposed to each stage of property development process
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to produce high quality reports.
