This forward-thinking, innovative company focused on discovering, designing, and delivering quality commercial, industrial and residential projects across the North Island is looking to expand its development team. 

The business is an independent, privately-owned property development company, and has a successful construction business. They are now looking to recruit a Development Manager to help identify, initiate and manage a range of development projects based in Auckland. 

The role has come up due to growth and with developments at different stages there is a mix of work this person will get involved in. The hire will be working with the senior leadership team to build on and grow their development offering across:

- Their own developments
- Development management services
- Joint Venture projects.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage the delivery of existing developments.
  • Prepare feasibilities and assist in analysing new development and investment opportunities.
  • Undertaking detailed feasibility and financial analysis of prospective developments.
  • Management of master planning and consenting processes.
  • Working closely with external stakeholders while managing the design, procurement, and tendering of projects.
  • Deliver high quality projects that maximise the company’s return on investment.
  • Ensuring that all employees and contractors understand and accept their responsibility to promote a safe and healthy workplace
  • Coordinate with real estate agents on sales and marketing programmes.
To be considered for this opportunity the ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience as a development manager in New Zealand. 

You will also have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience producing development feasibilities and cash flow forecasts.
  • Commercial, industrial and/or residential  project experience.
  • Working closely with external stakeholders while managing the design, procurement, and tendering of projects.
  • Managing the project programme and that all contractors and sub-contractors are working to timeframes set.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to produce high quality reports.
