Job description

The Housing Foundation is a charitable trust that delivers affordable housing options for working New Zealand households who are finding it difficult to buy a secure, warm, dry home. Established in 2001, Housing Foundation has project managed and financed the construction of over 1,300 homes since its inception.
  
Due to continued growth the Housing Foundation is now recruiting an Assistant Development Manager to support the development of housing projects from concept to completion.
  
This Auckland-based role will be reporting to the Senior Development Manager and is instrumental in helping to drive the successful delivery of projects and assist on the future pipeline of projects mainly in Auckland and elsewhere in New Zealand.
  
Key Accountabilities:  
  • Assist with the management of multiple projects and consultants to deliver housing developments.
  • Under the supervision of the Senior Development Manager, assist in developing detailed strategies and plans for new development projects.
  • You will assist on a range of responsibilities that include research, planning, feasibility and financial modelling & scoping of opportunities.
  • Work with other community housing providers, Iwi, Māori Organisations, Government.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all stakeholders – internal and external.
  • Ensuring that all employees and contractors understand and accept their responsibility to promote a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Create a neighbourhood and a place that households are proud to belong to.
  • Be responsible for ensuing our households and customers receive high-quality service.
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the ideal candidate will be working in the property/construction industry currently and is passionate about providing affordable and healthy homes to New Zealanders.
  
Further essential skills and attributes as follows but not limited to: 
  • Tertiary Qualification relevant to property and/or construction.
  • Experience in an analytical, cost management or financial property role would be advantageous.
  • Stakeholder management experience. 
  • Strategic thinking/problem solving.
