A leading property investment and development company with several current and future developments are looking to bring on board a Development Manager with project delivery experience, to manage a range of development projects based in Auckland. 

This privately owned NZ company pride themselves on delivering high quality work with a strong focus on large scale, high-end developments that combine residential, retail and commercial. They pride themselves on developments that are well designed, with great attention to detail that produces high quality neighbourhoods. 

In this role you’ll be a key link in the chain that sees new developments being delivered as well as building solid commercial relationships across the Auckland region.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage performance of existing developments;
  • Prepare feasibilities and assist in analysing new development and investment opportunities,
  • Undertake detailed feasibility and financial analysis of prospective developments to be presented to the executive team, 
  • Management of master planning and consenting processes,
  • Work closely with external stakeholders while managing the design, procurement, and tendering of projects,
  • Deliver high quality projects that maximise the company’s return on investment,
  • Ensure that all employees and contractors understand and accept their responsibility to promote a safe and healthy workplace, 
  • Prepare Board and Executive reports to support major investment and capital decisions.
A significant part of the role will be building key relationships with local authorities, consultants, contractors as well as internal stakeholders.
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the ideal candidate will have significant experience as a Development Manager or Senior Project Manager leading teams to successful development outcomes through master planning, due diligence, planning approval, detailed design, construction to handover.

Skills and attributes:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification;
  • You should have end to end delivery experience with a proven eye for identifying new opportunities and turning those opportunities into reality,
  • Experience producing development feasibilities and cash flow forecasts would be advantageous but not mandatory,
  • Commercial and/or residential mixed use project experience would be an advantage,
  • Worked closely with external stakeholders while managing the design, procurement, and tendering of projects,
  • Experience managing the project programme and see that all contractors and sub-contractors are working to timeframes set, 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to produce high quality reports
