Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for a leading property developer as a Design Manager to be based in either Auckland or Christchurch, there is also the opportunity for this person to work remotely with regular travel to the projects.

This current project portfolio is steadily growing, and you will be working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders managing the design process and maximising greater living spaces. With an in-house design and construction team, your aim is to ensure that the projects are kept in line with the design programme and that the design team is kept ahead of schedule, you will ensure the commercial performance of external consultants and mitigate project associated risks.

Being able to demonstrate that front end design management through consent and drive the design on several projects at different stages. 

To be considered for the role the ideal candidate will come from a main contractor / construction background within design/project management background. 

Other Requirements: 
  • Ideally design experience across project initiation and predesign, concept, through to delivery and handover. 
  • Residential and retirement experience would be an advantage but not necessary.  
  • Experience managing projects from design and planning through to completion.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to manage the demands of designers, engineers, and contractors on site.
