With over 50 employees across five offices, including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Central Lakes, Rawlinsons provides comprehensive cost and risk management support for clients and their projects. They are well recognised in the industry as a trusted partner, actively managing costs by providing seasoned advice using market insights to minimise risk and maximise value.

Rawlinsons is on a sustainable and strategic growth path, necessitating the addition of an Associate Director based in their Auckland office. You will be a vital part of the Senior Management Team, offering direct support to the Auckland Director in business development, workflow and resource management, and project planning. This is an excellent time to join Rawlinsons as they are expanding within their current office locations and other regions to further strengthen key client relationships and to open up new opportunities.
You’ll play a crucial role in this growth, with substantial opportunities for personal development, potential share ownership, and looking further ahead, directorship for the right candidate in the next 2-4 years.

The position of Associate Director will provide the requisite technical oversight and direction for staff in relation to service delivery on their individual projects, including reviewing and approving all service outputs, while also fulfilling the role of a full-time quantity surveyor on major projects.

Key Selection Criteria as follows;
  • Desired qualifications include an industry-related qualification and certification (e.g., MRICS or MNZIQS).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a quantity surveyor, commercial manager, estimator, or a similar senior role.
  • Consultancy experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong leadership skills and competence in negotiation and client relationship building.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and earns the respect and trust of all stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills.
  • Displays determination and focus in pursuing goals, even in the face of opposition, and ensures personal objectives align with company goals.
  • Holds experience in people leadership.
  • Proficient in analysing, summarising, and presenting technical information.
This will be both a challenging and highly rewarding position for the successful applicant. It’s a role for an assured, proven, robustly experienced senior operator who can balance project delivery, team management and some business development, to achieve successful project outcomes. You will be a key go-to leader in the office, supporting and mentoring staff.
