This leading private community developer who have a number of current developments and more on the horizon are looking to bring on board an an Assistant Development Manager based in Auckland.
This is a great opportunity for a young property professional who has aspirations in their career to become a Development Manager.
You will have the full support of your manager and the whole property development team to ensure you have opportunities to learn new skills on the job and make a difference within their organisation.
Your overall role will to assist and support on new development or regeneration project(s), including identification, assessment, contracting, design, consenting and construction delivery in coordination with the delivery team.

Key Accountabilities:
- Assist the Senior Development Managers with managing a range of property development projects.
- Help maintain and build strong internal and external relationships.
- Under the supervision of the Development Manager/s, assist in developing detailed project strategies and plans for development projects.
- Assembling project teams and securing fee proposals for each development project.
- Ensuring that all developments fully comply with all relevant NZ Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Ensuring that all procurement is undertaken within budgeted costs and performance specifications.
- Procuring, negotiating and documenting construction contracts and consultancy agreements as required.
- Convening, setting agendas, and chairing key project meetings including development control group meetings.
- Liaising with Legal Counsel regarding changes or alterations or amendments to standard contract documentation.
- Ensuring all development proposals comply with the businesses best practice.
You will also have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Can demonstrate strong negotiation and client relationship management.
- A good understanding of financial and analytical work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to produce high quality reports and presentations.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and show resilience in the role.
- Someone who can take initiative in situations but also willing to ask for help where they need it.
