Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Contract administration.
- Tendering of sub-trades and materials.
- Measuring and take-offs.
- Procurement of subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Cost control, budget monitoring and reporting.
- Progress claims variations and payments.
- Processing, negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
- Managing relationships with project manager, clients, architects and other key stakeholders
- Working to keep the project on time and within the agreed budget.
- Working with our Site and Project Management team to ensure construction costs and production are managed as efficiently as possible.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, standards and building codes.
- 5+ years quantity surveying experience within a contractor or consultancy environment
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Have a good understanding of commercial NZ construction methodology and local contracts
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Be competent in negotiation and client relationship management
- Have an agile and commercial mindset, with a hands on and solution focused approach to projects and trouble shooting
