The Role:
As a Health and Safety Manager, you'll be pivotal in cultivating a safety-first culture throughout the organisation. This hands-on role requires collaboration across all business levels. Your tasks encompass spearheading safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards, and fostering a secure work environment. With a focus on optimizing procedures and assurance programs, your expertise extends to fuel stops, fleets, and franchisees. Proactively leading new health and safety initiatives ensures ongoing alignment with best practices. Crucially, building robust relationships internally and externally is integral to this role's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead safety and wellbeing initiatives to promote a safe work environment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on health and safety matters across various business units.
  • Implement best practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Continuously improve safety procedures and protocols.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • A tertiary qualification relevant to health and safety management.
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety at a managerial level, ideally in fuel, fleets or similar fields.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand without restrictions.
  • Familiarity with HSEQ management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001 & AS/NZS 4801.
  • Attention to detail, and an interest in driving new emerging H&S trends and technologies.
