The role
This is an exciting 12-month fixed-term Project Manager position, offering the chance to dive headfirst into a fresh opportunity for 2024. You will be working with a client who highly values the services provided by this Main Contractor. Your role will involve taking the reins in overseeing a significant project aimed at revitalising a building that brings joy to the community. Leading a close-knit team consisting of a site foreman, hammerhands, and carpenters, you'll not only manage the project but also provide mentorship. This presents a fantastic opportunity to enhance your CV while collaborating with an excellent client.

  • Create and execute project work plans and monitor compliance with project budgets and documents
  • Ensuring design specifications are being met during the construction process
  • Understand cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly
  • Effectively manage project risk through mitigation planning
  • Work with management on project progress and cost status
  • Monitor and report against the implemented health and safety plan
  • Attend design meetings and support design development co-ordination and decisions 
  • Ensure efficiency, quality and affordability across the design and installation of all essential systems
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 4 - 6 years previous experience within the construction industry 
  • Trade background or relevant qualification such as engineer, architecture and building science  
  • Knowledge of NZ build methodology
  • Meticulous knowledge of the project life cycle 
  • Technical and detail focused 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
