Job description

One of the leaders in high-rise commercial construction is entering 2022 with a sizeable project pipeline across Auckland. This large construction powerhouse have massive capabilities for delivering reputable projects on time and within scope for a diverse range of clients. The intensification and growth of their network and portfolio remains a key strategic initiative, enabling them to provide greater levels of project efficiency and commercial results in being closer to their stakeholders and client needs. 

Due to organic growth and the desire and commitment to build out a larger experienced and admirable team, they are looking for a Senior Leader to take high level responsibility for the overall successful conclusion of construction projects. This includes providing leadership and strategic risk management to tight programmes and deadlines for lucrative commercial outcomes. 

The Role: 

Reporting directly to the Director, General Manager and Executives, you will drive large projects to meet or exceed agreed time, cost and quality outcomes while ensuring implementation of optimal HSE practice and the development and maintenance of exemplary Client/Stakeholder relationships. You will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of assigned projects are managed through design, tender and delivery to leading industry standards within a highly professional and commercial environment.

  • Monitor performance of existing and new projects 
  • Oversee Project Managers and financial monitoring to ensure work is completed on time and to standard 
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions i.e. buildability 
  • Lead the preparation of tenders and proposals for potential projects
  • Fostering new and existing key relationships, ensuring teams meet development objectives 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of design and details and ensure works are sequenced and comply with same
  • Ensure variation costs are monitored and managed within delegation
  • Provide leadership in the creation of a client focused work ethic amongst all delivery personnel 

About You

In addition to the above deliverables and required skillset, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification or trade background, be competent in negotiation and client relationship management, have an agile and commercial mindset, with a hands on and solution focus to projects and trouble shooting.
