The Role - Project Director
This is a senior leadership role within the Canterbury business, overseeing a portfolio of major projects while helping shape the next phase of growth. You’ll lead complex developments, manage key client relationships, and provide direction to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.

You’ll work alongside a Director who has built a team of high performers that stay, benefiting from their experience and mentoring style while having autonomy to lead your own projects and clients.

The role will see you:
  • Leading large-scale new build, refurbishment, and fit-out projects
  • Managing key client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to project teams
  • Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Canterbury operation
  • Driving commercial performance and successful project outcomes
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Relevant qualification in construction, property, or project management
  • Proven experience delivering large and complex building projects end-to-end
  • Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring teams
  • Confidence managing senior stakeholders and client relationships
  • Exposure to business development and winning work
  • Commercial awareness and ability to oversee project financial performance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Contract administration experience (ideally NZS3910)
  • Ability to positively influence team culture and drive performance
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on growth
  • Experience or connections within infrastructure, healthcare, or tertiary sectors would be advantage
