The Role
This is a great opportunity for a Project Director to lead from the front, with a strong focus on delivering and growing work throughout Wānaka and the Upper Clutha region.
You’ll provide leadership, direction and senior oversight across a diverse portfolio of projects, while playing a key role in client relationships, team development and regional growth. This position offers exposure to high-value vertical and horizontal projects, including complex infrastructure and large-scale built environment developments.

You’ll provide leadership, direction and senior oversight across a diverse portfolio of projects, while playing a key role in client relationships, team development and regional growth. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Wanaka / Upper Clutha office and acting as a senior figure in the region
- Providing strategic and commercial leadership across multiple projects
- Overseeing delivery from feasibility through to completion
- Managing and mentoring project managers and junior staff
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Supporting business development and contributing to future work pipelines
The ideal candidate
You’ll be a proven senior professional with the confidence and capability to lead people, projects and client relationships.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Significant experience in project management, construction management or engineering within a consultancy environment
- Proven success delivering complex, high-value vertical and/or horizontal projects
- Experience operating at a senior level, or ready to step into a Project Director role
- Strong leadership and mentoring capability, with the ability to grow and guide a regional team
- Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
- A relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, building science or similar
- Strong communication skills and confidence leading meetings and negotiations
