This leading, multinational construction company wishes to appoint a talented Design Manager to help lead its design function in its major projects business.  Typical projects include high-value and complex buildings across a range of sectors and this company has a superior reputation of delivering major works to cost and time, whilst building on its excellent relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  
The key to this role is being able to understand clients' vision and objectives and relate them back into the business, whilst leading the design team to produce successful design solutions that are profitable and achievable.
  
What you’ll need:
  • Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Architecture, Construction, or Engineering.
  • Sound knowledge and working experience within the commercial construction industry preferably within a main contractor/construction environment;
  • Excellent working experience in managing design consultants, front end delivery teams and the client-side of the business with the ability to build, maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders;
  • A deep understanding of Design and Construction processes including working with public and private sector.
  • Proven experience writing detailed construction programmes and methodologies.
  • Strong experience in managing clients, design consultants and front end delivery teams;
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to provide specialist construction knowledge to clients with the skills to facilitate value management sessions when required.
