The opportunity
This role is at the heart of the business. You’ll ensure contracts are priced accurately, suppliers and subcontractors are well managed, and projects run smoothly from contract to completion. You’ll work closely with the Directors, project managers, suppliers, and clients, bringing practical insight, commercial awareness, and a proactive mindset to protect margins and deliver an excellent client experience.
Key responsibilities
You’re practical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware, with a hands-on approach from day one. You enjoy problem-solving, take ownership of your work, and thrive in a role where your input truly matters. Calm, organised, and solutions-focused, you can juggle multiple priorities while keeping projects on track.
You bring experience in residential construction, including reading and interpreting plans, contracts management, quantity surveying, or job pricing. You understand the commercial and contractual side of building and apply this knowledge in a practical, real-world way.
And importantly, you’ll enjoy working with a small, tight-knit team of great Cantabrians who love what they do.

- Act as a main point of contact for suppliers, project managers, and occasionally clients
- Organise quotes and issue purchase orders to suppliers and subcontractors
- Price jobs and manage quantity surveying across residential builds
- Review back-costing and identify ways to improve pricing and margins
- Manage contract variations and materials procurement
- Oversee building consent documentation through to Code of Compliance
- Draft contracts and detailed contract addendums
