The Role
- Lead and deliver geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design across a diverse project portfolio
- Prepare and review reports, design documentation, and recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability
- Provide geotechnical input across feasibility, concept, and detailed design stages
- Oversee site investigations, construction monitoring, and quality assurance activities
- Work closely with clients, project managers, and engineers across disciplines to ensure integrated design outcomes
- Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to team capability and technical excellence
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- 7+ years’ experience in geotechnical design and investigation (consultancy experience preferred)
- Strong capability in foundation design, settlement analysis, slope stability, and ground improvement
- Proficient in tools such as GeoStudio, SLOPE, Settle3D, or PLAXIS
- Excellent communication and client liaison skills
- CPEng (or working towards) with Engineering New Zealand
