Assemble Recruitment are partnered with a well-respected civil consultancy based in Christchurch looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team.
  
This opportunity is with an award - winning medium sized engineering consultancy with a solid reputation in the Land Development space. They have a strong pipeline in place with projects in both public and private developments.
  
You will be joining a down to earth team who take pride in delivering quality projects. There is room for growth and development, and you will be joining a company who promotes learning opportunities through ongoing training. Additionally, there is support in completing your chartership if not already completed.
  
We are looking for people experienced with land development projects and who are confident using 12D.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Design: Working alongside other engineers as well as other professionals including planners, surveyors, architects, geotechnical engineers, ecologists, etc. to formulate concepts for the planning process and detailed design for infrastructure including stormwater, water supply, roading, wastewater and earthworks to set standards and then approval.
  • Contract Administration: Compilation of contracts, specifications, schedules, and tender documents. Tendering appraisals and recommendations to Client. Processing claims, etc.
  • Site Observation: Weekly site meetings with client, contractors, councils and occasionally ECan. This will involve recording the progress of works, addressing site queries, observing site testing and compilation of a full site record of QA.
  • Post Construction: Processing QA for 224c certifications, observation of the maintenance periods and final claims/retentions.
  
The Ideal Candidate
  • At least 3 years of NZ civil engineering experience particularly in land development or infrastructure projects using 12D.
  • Strong design skills using 12D.
  • A civil engineering degree ideally from the University of Canterbury or Auckland.
  • Chartership is a big advantage. However, support is available for those already on the pathway to completing their CPEng.
