Job description

A multi-disciplinary Consultancy is looking for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor in Christchurch, to be part of the growing team. You will work in partnership with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, across a range of public and private sector projects and clients, providing high quality services and outcomes. 

This Consultancy has a committed and self-motivated team and company culture, with a high focus on their people and succession planning of their careers. You will work closely with the Project Manager's, aiming to deliver projects on time and within budget, with an awareness and appreciation for sustainability. 

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in Quantity Surveying as well as strong business acumen, delivering high standards of excellence to your customers in both projects and communication. You will be rewarded and recognised as an expert within your field, with an exciting future ahead. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Pre-contract Quantity Surveying including cost planning, value engineering, contract documentation, tender analysis and related reporting;
  • Post-contract including contract administration, progress valuation and cost negotiation,
  • Support the Project Manager's to deliver projects on time and within budget,
  • Information management including price enquiries and maintenance and review work as required, and 
  • Provide updates and financial results to the PM, Senior QS and client 

Requirements:
  • Industry related qualification;
  • Technical skills - negotiating, settling, understand a construction program,
  • Understand contract documents and responsibilities, and report on these,
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to converse with clients and build rapport easily, and 
  • Integrity in business dealings at all time - ability to create and maintain trust
