Job description

Mackersy Property are a leading commercial property investment and management firm with a proven track record of delivering high-performing, long-term investment opportunities across New Zealand. Their diverse portfolio includes office, industrial, retail, and specialised-use properties. They are committed to creating long-term value for their investors through sustainable growth, robust governance, and alignment of interests.

As they expand their pipeline of investment-grade commercial property projects, they are seeking an experienced and connected Investor Relations Manager to lead equity raising efforts from wholesale and sophisticated investors nationwide.

Role Overview:
The Investor Relations Manager will play a critical role in securing equity capital from wholesale investors to fund both new acquisitions and existing property syndicates. This is a strategic, relationship-driven position that requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate, capital markets, and investor mandates. You will be the face of their capital raising efforts, working closely with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional partners to deliver compelling investment opportunities.

This role will be located in either Auckland, Tauranga, Christchurch or Queenstown and would require regular travel nationwide to meet with investors and the wider equity raising team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end wholesale equity raising process for new and existing property investment vehicles
  • Design and implement capital raising strategies aligned with investment timelines and investor preferences
  • Build, manage, and grow a strong network of wholesale investors, including HNWIs, family offices, wealth managers, and institutional advisers
  • Develop and present high-quality investment materials, including information memorandums, pitch decks, and financial models
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (development, finance, legal, as well as senior leadership) to structure offerings that are both attractive and compliant
  • Manage investor due diligence, respond to complex queries, and ensure a smooth onboarding process
  • Maintain and update CRM systems and ensure transparent, timely investor communications
  • Stay informed of market trends, regulatory changes, and investor sentiment to inform future capital raising strategy
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in capital raising, investment banking, funds management, private banking or property syndication
  • Demonstrated success raising equity from wholesale or institutional investors
  • Strong knowledge of commercial property markets, investment structures, and risk-return dynamics
  • Understanding of New Zealand’s Financial Markets Conduct Act (FMCA) and wholesale investor eligibility criteria
  • Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in financial modelling and investment analysis
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, property, law, or a related field
  • Certification as a Financial Advisor is desirable, but not required
What is on offer:
  • Opportunity to shape and lead the firm’s capital raising strategy along with the wider leadership and equity raising team
  • A competitive remuneration package, including performance-based incentives
  • A values-driven, collaborative culture focused on professionalism and long-term success
  • Opportunities for professional development and leadership in a growing business
