SkyCity are New Zealand's largest entertainment provider, the largest employer of hospitality staff and Auckland's biggest single-site employer.

The variety of careers across their Auckland business is huge, they have two luxury hotels, over 20 award-winning restaurants and bars, a world-class casino, corporate office and of course, the iconic Sky Tower which will soon be joined by the New Zealand International Convention Centre and the new 5 star Horizon Hotel.

As part of their continuing growth and to satisfy the delivery on the country’s largest convention centre, the NZICC, they are looking for a Facility Services Manager to be responsible for the NZICC and surrounding auxiliary buildings.
The purpose of said role is, generally speaking, to ensure SkyCity Auckland’s building structure and infrastructure meet the expectations of customers by ensuring the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the buildings are to the approved budget. Provide advice on budgets required to site General Managers and streamline maintenance contracts and service level agreements where applicable ensuring value is achieved for our national and international guests and shareholders.

Role Scope
The responsibilities under this role may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ongoing planned and preventative maintenance of complex building structures including delivery of the 10-year capex forecast
  • Scope and client lead complex and extensive capital investment planning
  • Managing and harnessing the scale, complexity and breadth of the portfolio to optimise long term business benefits
  • Stakeholder management across all sites and services
  • Maintenance of BWOF and general compliance schedules, as well as all other Health and Safety policy and procedures
Role Requirements
In order to fulfil the duties of the role, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • 10+ years’ experience in hands on Facilities Management
  • Large volume people management skills or extensive contractor management within a diverse work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-opening and opening of large-scale facilities either domestically or internationally
  • Hospitality experience, in tandem with exposure to projects of similar size and scale would be preferred, but not essential
  • Strong relationship building and managerial experience
  • Demonstrated understand of financial management and budgeting
