Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a leading senior living and retirement provider for a Project Manager to join their team.

With a strong pipeline of work across the country, this organisation offers an excellent platform for someone looking to make the move from consultancy to client-side. You’ll gain valuable front-end experience while working in a high-performing, collaborative internal team that genuinely enjoys working together and is passionate about delivering meaningful, high-quality communities.
You’ll be working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders to lead, plan, and manage the construction of several retirement living and aged care development projects.
This role requires cradle-to-grave project management expertise, from initial brief and feasibility through to design management, consenting, procurement, construction and handover. You’ll report to the Head of Project Management and work alongside a team of experienced SPMs, managing a mix of projects across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage multiple aged care and retirement living projects at various stages of delivery
  • Work alongside the internal property and development teams on design, procurement, and consultant/contractor management
  • Oversee project programmes, ensuring key milestones and budgets are met
  • Ensure design intent is upheld throughout construction
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to quality standards, health and safety, and compliance requirements
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to the Head of Project Management
About You:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in construction, engineering, or quantity surveying
  • Proven experience in New Zealand managing construction projects within a consultancy or client-side environment
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand building legislation, contracts, and regulatory requirements, including NZ3910
  • Effective communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Confident leading projects end-to-end with a proactive, solution-focused mindset
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established team with strong values, an excellent internal culture and a genuine long-term pipeline of projects.
