Due to growth in the Auckland office an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join this well-known property developer. You will be responsible for managing the town planning of projects nationally within the industrial, commercial and residential sectors, and will work as a part of a supportive and collaborative team.
You will need to have knowledge of:
- local and national government processes
- environmental and economic issues
- different building methods
- planning legislation such as the Resource Management Act and the Local Government Act
- the processes for zone changes and relevant planning methods
- geological reports
- HAIL site regulations
- cultural interests
- hydrological and ecological development restrictions
- soil types and classifications
You will know how to do the following:
- plan and design buildings, streets, subdivisions
- prepare plans up to 20 years ahead
- examine how areas are developing and the effect of proposed developments
- collect and analyse economic, social and environmental data
- assist in the management of projects
- write and present/submit/ Interpret reports for council resource consent, environmental, and other hearings
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Planning experience in New Zealand Resource Management
- A sound understanding of the Resource Management Act and the resource consent process
- An understanding of Structure Planning and Plan Change processes would be advantageous, but not a requirement
- A great attitude, and willingness to learn and develop your career with a property developer
