Assistant Development Manager

A NZ privately owned investment and development business is looking to hire an Assistant Development Manager based in the Auckland CBD.

The business has a number of developments across Auckland in different stages (early planning, design and consenting) as well fit out/refurb work for their existing portfolio. The role will report the Senior Development Manager & Owner. 

Projects vary from commercial, industrial, mixed use as well as looking at future options in residential/B2R and hotels.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assist the Development/Senior Development Managers with managing a range of property development projects.
• Under the supervision of the Senior Development Manager, assist in developing detailed project strategies and plans for development projects.
• Provide assistance to the team on different stages of projects through market research, planning, feasibility and financial modelling & scoping of opportunities.
• Help maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
• Assist in the meeting minutes for PCG meetings.
• Be involved in the selection of project teams of consultants and contractors which comply with company policy and objectives to ensure projects are procured on time, and within budget.
• Help to produce high level reports.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the ideal candidate will come from property/project management/architectural/QS background. 

You will also have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Ideally been exposed to or some experience of the development lifecycle.
• Competence in negotiation and client relationship management.
• A good understanding of financial and analytical work is a bonus but not a prerequisite.  
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to produce high quality reports and presentations.
