A superb opportunity to work for a multi-disciplinary, professional Property and Building Consultancy as a Senior Quantity Surveyor - Associate level. This Consultancy are leaders in their field of expertise, specialising in providing high quality services to a range of clients including governmental, institutional, commercial and residential property owners and occupiers. 

This is a unique opportunity to lead a Quantity Surveying team and service line to success. You will be managing a team of knowledgeable, driven, passionate and diverse people. Along with management, you will be covering project work, business development, project generation across remedial works, weather tightness, forensic expert witnessing, etc. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Allocate work effectively to the team ensuring that all projects are appropriately and adequately resourced to deliver quality outputs.
  • Individually deliver your own projects and client services as required. 
  • Monitor and manage revenue of the team and work with Directors to set annual budgets for the team. 
  • Provide regular reports indicating construction progress and cost to complete against targets. 
  • Develop a high performing team through effective recruitment, induction, performance management, training and development.
  • In conjunction with the Directors, develop QS practice strategy and business plans, including key client/sector in alignment with company strategy.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities for developing and expanding services offered in response to director or client initiatives. 
  • Manage the full project lifecycle including estimation, procurement, project set up, project management, project performance and stakeholder/risk management. 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science and/or Quantity Surveying Degree
  • Professional Member of RICS and/or NZIQS
  • At least 8 years Quantity Surveying experience covering a broad range of services and roles
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent cost estimation and measurement skills, including production of schedules of quantities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
  • Commercially savvy, with a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Great computer skills, proficient with MS office applications
