A well-respected global property investment business has built a property development capability inhouse in NZ. The business services private development companies, sovereign funds, high net worth individuals, family offices, government agencies, listed companies, and debt funders.
The business has several current and new developments in the pipeline and are looking to bring on an Assistant Development Manager based in central Auckland. You will report directly to one of the Directors who is also a Senior Development Manager and work closely with the wider Development team.
The role is focussed on residential and affordable housing and a significant part of the role will be building key relationships with landowners, local authorities, iwi, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:
- Under the guidance of the Directors/SDMs, assist in developing detailed project strategies and plans for development projects.
- You will assist on a range of responsibilities that include market research, planning, feasibility, and financial modelling & scoping of opportunities.
- Management of master planning and consenting processes.
- Assist in the meeting minutes for PCG meetings.
- Be involved in the selection of project teams of consultants and contractors which comply with company policy and objectives to ensure projects are procured on time, and within budget.
- Ensure a robust risk management framework and methodology is applied across developments.
You will also have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Competence in negotiation and client relationship management.
- A good understanding of financial and analytical work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to produce high quality reports and presentations.
