A respected multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy established in the Central Otago region is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team. With a strong national presence and an experienced local leadership team, the business is well positioned for long-term growth and already has a robust pipeline of secured work across residential, commercial and public projects.

The Central Otago office is led by a highly experienced Structural Engineering Manager, providing hands-on technical leadership, mentoring and strategic direction. This is an excellent opportunity to join a developing local team with the backing, systems and project base of an established consultancy.

You’ll work on a diverse range of structural projects, from high-quality residential builds through to commercial and public works, collaborating closely with clients, architects and other disciplines. The role offers scope to take ownership of projects appropriate to your level, with support from experienced leaders and clear pathways for development.

This position suits someone who enjoys variety, values practical and efficient design, and wants to be part of a growing team where individual contribution genuinely matters. This role will be tailored to the individuals appropriate level e.g. Senior or Intermediate or Junior. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Delivering structural design and documentation in line with NZ standards
  • Working collaboratively with clients, architects and internal teams
  • Contributing to seismic design, technical reports and construction monitoring
  • Managing elements of projects and developing technical and commercial capability
  • Supporting the continued growth and reputation of the Central Otago office
What you'll bring: 
  • A Civil or Structural Engineering degree (Washington Accord or equivalent)
  • New Zealand experience with structural and seismic design
  • Experience with common structural analysis and Autodesk-based design tools
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
