THE ROLE

Due to a strong and steady influx of new land development and infrastructure projects, a rare opportunity presents itself for a Senior Civil Engineer to move into an Associate position with arguably one of the biggest players in Civil Engineering/Land Development in New Zealand.
  
The ideal candidate will have New Zealand experience, coupled with appropriate Washington accord qualifications and registration with applicable national associate, Association’s board or equivalent.
  
You will be responsible for planning and conducting projects of a complex nature to meet client requirements and will be expected to the independently manage junior/Intermediate Engineers and draughts people in a project team whilst managing the output of project deliverables.
  
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following: 
  
  • A Bachelor of Engineering university degree.
  • Experienced in using AutoCad and Civil 3D or 12D software.
  • NZ experience
  • The gravitas and people skills to lead a small team and to manage relations with clients and contractors.
  
  
On a day-to-day basis you will:
  
  • Manage large scale and complex projects.
  • Manage individual outputs and those of the project team to deliver KPI’s for development projects.
  • Assist in management of staff and their selection/recruitment.
  • Act and present as an expert witness in council and environment court arbitration
  • Be an effective mentor and professional role model other project staff.
  • Uphold quality and look to improve team outputs regarding design and management of land development projects.
  • Manage Construction Supervision to the highest level and build strong relationships with contractors and the public.
  • Oversee Contract Management and make fair decisions regarding the processing and certification of contractor claims.
  • Be responsible for your own design work and the design, drawings and detailing of your project team
  • Maintain up to date industry knowledge in areas of construction practice, modelling, software and innovation.
  • Use appropriate software such as AutoCad, Civil 3D or 12D.
