Project Manager

Job description

The Company
This well-regarded South Island project management consultancy has developed a strong reputation for delivering complex and meaningful projects while maintaining a genuinely down-to-earth and relationship-driven culture.

With an established and highly experienced team based out of Nelson, the business continues to grow its presence across the South Island and has secured a strong pipeline of work throughout the Queenstown and Central Otago region.

Unlike larger corporates, this consultancy offers a more flexible and trusted working environment where people are given autonomy, backed by strong leadership and support when needed. They are known for building long-term client relationships, delivering high-quality outcomes, and creating a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

The Role
An opportunity has opened up for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to be based in Queenstown, leading projects locally while being supported by the wider Nelson-based team.

This role would suit someone confident operating independently, managing client relationships, and taking ownership of project delivery across the full lifecycle. You’ll work across a diverse mix of projects including commercial, tourism, healthcare, civic, infrastructure, and development projects throughout the region.

The position offers the best of both worlds - the autonomy and flexibility of working locally in Queenstown, combined with the backing, systems, and mentorship of an experienced consultancy team behind you.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to play a key role in growing the consultancy’s Queenstown presence while continuing to develop their own career long term.

What we’re looking for:
  • Experience delivering projects within the construction or consultancy space
  • Relevant qualification in construction, engineering, architecture, property, or similar
  • Experience managing projects from inception through to completion
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and confidently manage multiple projects
  • Consultancy experience preferred but not essential
  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in building long-term client relationships
This is a rare opportunity to join a respected consultancy in a role offering autonomy, flexibility, strong project exposure, and long-term career potential within the Southern Lakes market.
