Project Manager

Job description

The Company
This South Island based project management consultancy has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects while maintaining a genuinely down-to-earth and people-first culture. Known for their practical approach and long-standing client relationships, they continue to win repeat work across a diverse range of sectors throughout the region.

Operating as a close-knit team, the business offers an environment that is collaborative, flexible, and far removed from the corporate-heavy feel of larger consultancies. They pride themselves on doing good work with good people and have built a culture where staff are trusted, supported, and given real autonomy.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth across the region, they are now looking to add a Project Manager to their Nelson team.

The Role
This opportunity will see you working across a varied mix of projects including commercial, healthcare, aviation, civic, infrastructure, and development projects throughout the Top of the South and wider South Island.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders in the business while also taking ownership of your own projects from early planning and design stages through to delivery and completion. The role offers strong exposure across the full project lifecycle and would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and being involved in meaningful projects that positively impact local communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to join a respected consultancy where culture, flexibility, and quality project delivery are genuinely valued.

What we’re looking for:
  • Experience in project delivery within the construction or consultancy space
  • Relevant qualification in construction, engineering, property, building science, or similar
  • Experience managing projects from inception through to completion
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a smaller team environment
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Someone who values relationships, culture, and long-term career growth
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected consultancy delivering meaningful South Island projects while enjoying the lifestyle Nelson has to offer.
