Project Manager

Job description

We are partnered with a well-established South Island civil contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager or Site Manager to support a strong pipeline of works across Timaru and South Canterbury.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of civil projects, including bulk earthworks, three waters, drainage, roading, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and deliver projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Develop and manage project plans, programmes, and budgets
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, environmental regulations, and NZS 3910 requirements
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting on project performance and milestones
About You
  • Proven experience delivering civil construction projects successfully
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability
  • Sound understanding of health & safety and quality management
  • Proactive, motivated, and outcome-driven
  • Ability to build rapport and manage stakeholder expectations effectively
