Auckland | Retail Property | Senior Leadership Role

Assemble Recruitment is partnering with Stride, a leading owner and manager of retail property assets, to appoint an experienced Centre Manager for NorthWest Shopping Centre, one of Auckland’s prominent retail destinations.
This is a senior, commercially focused leadership role with full responsibility for centre performance, operations, people leadership, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a critical role in maximising net operating income, driving visitation and sales, and protecting and enhancing long‑term asset value.

The Opportunity
As Centre Manager, you will have end‑to‑end responsibility for the effective management of NorthWest Shopping Centre, leading a diverse on‑site team and working closely with leasing, investment, finance, and development stakeholders.

You will set and deliver the annual business plan, oversee operational excellence, maintain strong retailer and community relationships, and ensure the Centre operates to industry best practice across safety, compliance, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Centre Performance & Strategy
  • Develop and deliver the annual business plan, budgets, and capital programmes
  • Maximise net operating income through revenue growth and cost discipline
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare monthly reporting, and provide commercial insights
Retailer, Customer & Community Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with retailers, supporting sales performance and centre standards
  • Manage customer issues and complaints with professionalism and care
  • Lead centre public relations and community engagement initiatives
Leadership & Operations
  • Provide accessible, high‑quality leadership to the Centre Leadership Team
  • Oversee recruitment, coaching, and performance management of direct reports
  • Ensure strong health & safety, compliance, and emergency preparedness standards
  • Work closely with leasing teams to support leasing and casual mall income strategies
About You
You will likely bring:
  • Proven experience in shopping centre or large‑scale retail property management
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing income, opex, and capex
  • Excellent people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Confidence working with financial data to drive strategic decisions
  • A proactive, solution‑focused approach and strong sense of ownership
  • Tertiary qualification in property, marketing, communications, or a related discipline
