Assemble Recruitment is partnering with Alvarium, a New Zealand-owned private capital and investment advisory firm, to appoint an Analyst into its Auckland-based investment team.
This role offers the opportunity to work across the full investment lifecycle, supporting the sourcing, evaluation, execution, and ongoing monitoring of a diverse range of investments. It is a hands-on, analytically rigorous role with meaningful exposure to senior decision-makers, external advisers, and investors.
The Opportunity

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
Investment Analysis & Execution
- Conduct preliminary investment assessments and present clear go / no-go recommendations
- Build and review detailed financial models, valuations, and investment cases
- Lead analytical workstreams across financial, commercial, and (where relevant) operational diligence
- Coordinate and manage third-party advisers including legal, valuation, and financial diligence providers
- Draft and review investment materials including teasers and Information Memoranda
- Prepare Investment Committee papers with clear investment thesis, risks, and mitigations
- Support negotiations on key commercial and legal terms alongside senior team members and legal counsel
- Manage data rooms, workback plans, and transaction processes to keep execution on timeline
- Own monthly and quarterly performance tracking, KPIs, cash flows, and pricing processes
- Support portfolio governance, including Board packs, investor reporting, and follow-on or exit materials
- Maintain relationships with key third parties including lawyers, brokers, agents, and valuers
- Monitor macroeconomic, capital market, and sector-specific trends in New Zealand
- Conduct market and industry research to identify investment themes, risks, and structural drivers
You will likely bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience within an investment firm or relevant transaction-focused environment
- A tertiary qualification in finance, property, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related discipline
- CFA charter (or progress towards) or equivalent qualification, highly regarded
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capability with experience producing investment-grade analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently
