Job description

Jasper is an established prop-tech investment business and fund manager. By providing a disruptive point of difference to the market, they have challenged traditional forms of property investment and offer a well-developed platform for all types of investors to have their capital managed. Off the back of rapid growth, they are looking for an accomplished property analyst to join the team, focused on new acquisitions.

The main purpose of the role is to:
  • Support the Acquisitions team which is focused on the sourcing, pricing and execution of investment deals across New Zealand and Australia. Candidates will be given the opportunity to work across sectors, risk profiles and markets in order to deliver acquisitions aligned with Jasper’s investment strategies for both new and existing vehicles.
In your new position you will have relationships with all divisions within the company including management and Directors, with key tasks including but not limited to:
  • Working closely with the Acquisitions team on strategies for future acquisitions.
  • Researching and providing data on industry sectors and properties in both New Zealand and Australia.
  • Evaluating new investment opportunities and working on complex financial models.
  • Contribute to the drafting of investment papers for review by the CEO before submission to Investment Committee.
  • Work with due diligence partners including lawyers, technical surveyors and environmental consultants to deliver timely and accurate reports and identify and find solutions to issues as they arise.
  • Working closely with the Jasper tech engineering team to improve the traditional sourcing and diligence processes and increase efficiencies through developments to the Jasper platform.
  • Assisting the Investment Management team in the coordination of reporting and analytics to a large investor network comprising of institutional investors, corporates, family offices, high net worth, and wholesale investors.
To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate the following:
  • A NZ recognised tertiary degree in Property or Finance (e.g. Economics, Property, Valuations, Finance, Commerce/Business)
  • 1 to 5 years prior experience within the Property sector (e.g. Commercial Valuations, Property/Development Analysts)
  • Possess a high financial aptitude, commercial acumen and ability to analyse financial data from budgets, business plans and valuations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to produce high-quality reports, analysis and presentations under tight deadlines
  • Strong numerical reasoning and well-developed financial modelling skills with an understanding and working knowledge of asset management software
  • Relationship management experience, and a customer/client focus
  • A high level of flexibility and the ability to work hard in a demanding environment
